Property Management
Overview
Part of what makes Jubilee Housing special is that we have an in-house team of property management and facilities professionals. We do this because it ties directly into our model of Justice Housing.
Maintenance can get to any of our buildings within 10-minutes, porters develop meaningful relationships with residents, and our property managers understand our mission intimately.
Our staff aren't just managing buildings—they are strengthening communities. By staying closely connected to residents and responsive to their needs, our team provides hands-on support that reflects our commitment to service and care.
What We Do
-
We operate properties financed through LIHTC, tax-exempt bond, HUD, and HOME programs, and we hold the in-house expertise to do it well. Our team maintains compliance across overlapping regulatory frameworks, coordinates with funders and syndicators.
-
We follow an Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plan designed to reach applicants across the District, including those least likely to apply, and we partner closely with neighborhood service providers to connect housing to the people who need it most. Our selection process is clear, consistent, and documented, with staff trained and credentialed in Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity standards.
-
We run an in-house team of maintenance technicians and porters covering plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and custodial work, with preventive maintenance schedules tailored to each building’s systems.
-
Property Management works hand-in-hand with our Resident Services team so that lease compliance and resident support reinforce one another. Residents have meaningful voice through Tenant Councils, Board committees, and building leadership roles, and new residents are oriented into both the responsibilities and the opportunities of tenancy.
-
In-house accounting handles rent posting, collections, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, bank reconciliation, budget variance reporting, and partnership reporting to investors, funders, and regulators. Independent audits are performed annually by established affordable housing CPA firms.
-
Daily site inspections, weekly facilities walk-throughs, and monthly property management inspections keep the buildings in good order and flag emerging issues early. Buildings are equipped with security cameras and digital video monitoring, and detailed property logs document the events that matter for safety, insurance, and accountability.
