The Jubilee Difference

What sets us apart in affordable housing and community development

Many affordable housing providers focus on one piece of the puzzle: building units, managing properties, or delivering services. But creating true pathways to opportunity requires all of these elements working together.

Real Estate Development

Since 1973, we've grown from two apartment buildings to 15 properties across Ward 1, strategically staying rooted in Adams Morgan, Columbia Heights, and Mount Pleasant rather than sprawling across the city.

Our development approach is intentional: we build in thriving neighborhoods with access to transportation, grocery stores, good schools, and jobs—because housing is the beginning of how to build a good life.

We're not just adding units to the city's housing stock; we're creating Justice Housing® that connects families to opportunity.

Property Management

Jubilee maintains a robust in-house team of 28+ property management and facilities professionals. This means faster response times, deeper relationships with residents, and property managers who understand our mission intimately.

Our Community Managers—including bilingual staff—are helping manage buildings, connecting residents to services, and ensuring every property reflects our values.

Innovative Financing

Let’s be honest, building deeply affordable homes in one of the most expensive cities in the US, is not easy. It means we must navigate complex requirements, use various sources of capital, and be innovative in how we structure our deals.

From our founding until now, Jubilee Housing has made it our mission to overcome the obstacles that come with meeting the needs of our community. This is what makes Justice Housing® possible in Washington, DC.

Advocacy

We actively work to reshape the political landscape so more families can access Justice Housing®.

Our advocacy work ensures that Jubilee residents' voices help shape outcomes. We're focused on sustaining public investments, deepening resident leadership in advocacy, and advancing structural solutions that stabilize the housing ecosystem and keep affordable housing viable.
