Jubilee Housing to Showcase Resident Artist Dariana Arias in Community Art Gallery

Title: Adams Morgan in Washington D.C., U.S.A. Medium: Acrylic on stretched canvas. Dimensions: 8” x 10” x 1” Artist: Dariana Arias.

Bright and energetic, artist Dariana Arias' piece, Adams Morgan in Washington, D.C., USA, captures the character and spirit of a central part of the city. Her work invites viewers to look closer, spark their curiosity, and experience a familiar place through a fresh perspective.

Jubilee Housing will showcase Arias’ artwork at a community art gallery on Friday, November 13, at 6 p.m., giving neighbors, supporters, and art enthusiasts an opportunity to experience her work and celebrate the creative talent within the Jubilee community.

"It is always exciting to share my art with my local community here in Adams Morgan, and equally exciting to introduce my work and expand my reach to a broader audience. My art is a reflection of my lived experiences; some of my artworks are recognizable city landmarks or country landscapes, other pieces are mirrors to my personal states of mind, while some paintings are representational of historical events. My art is my contribution to society, and through it, I share a tiny piece of me with the world... Enjoy,” said artist, Dariana Arias.

For Arias, art is more than an expression of creativity. It's a way to explore the human experience, connect with others, and encourage people to see the world differently. Her work brings together traditional artistic techniques and contemporary themes, exploring gender studies, sociopolitical issues, cultural heritage, and spirituality.

The gallery is about more than showcasing beautiful artwork. It's an opportunity to celebrate the creativity and talent within Jubilee's community while supporting the artist behind it. Proceeds from art sales will benefit both Arias and Jubilee Housing; helping sustain her artistic practice while supporting Justice Housing® and the more than 800 residents who call Jubilee home.

"When I first experienced Dariana's work, I was struck by its vibrancy, shapes, and energy. I wanted everyone else to have the opportunity to experience it, too,” said Justin Spees, Director of Development at Jubilee Housing. “Creating space for our residents to share their talents and passions is an important part of building the kind of community we envision at Jubilee.”

The gallery will take place at Ontario Place, one of Jubilee Housing's deeply affordable housing communities, located at 2400 Ontario Road NW in Washington, D.C.
