Justice housing is affordable to those with few financial assets, located in neighborhoods where resources such as good schools, grocery stores, and public transportation are readily accessible and near services that support residents as they pursue educational and career attainment.

Position Description

The Women’s Resident Manager works closely with program staff to intentionally and compassionately support 10 women who are returning to the community after a period of incarceration. The Women’s Resident Manager will primarily be responsible for the facility-related support to the residents of the house. The position is responsible for supporting a healthy living environment for the Women’s House. The position is a Monday thru Friday position from 4p.m. to 12 midnight. This person reports to the Director of Reentry Housing Initiative and works with program staff to ensure that the facility is fully equipped to run smoothly.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Monitor resident participation in the housing community.
  • Ensure that the house is secure at all times.
  • Respond to crisis situations according to guidelines established.
  • Ensure adherence of Program Rules and Policies on a consistent and fair basis.
  • Oversee performance of general housekeeping for the facility.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the Laundry and Chore list.
  • Prepare rooms for incoming residents with the assistance of resident monitor.
  • Document house violations.
  • Report maintenance and facility concerns to the Vice President of Property Development.
  • Maintain professional relationship with residents while maintaining confidentiality of all parties.
  • Attend facilities-related meetings as well as Jubilee Staff meetings and Jubilee Work Day.
  • Perform drug screens upon request of Program Coordinator, Women’s Recovery Support Worker and Case Manager or if suspicion of resident use.
  • Other duties as assigned and necessary for successful program operation.

Qualifications

  • Four (4) years of experience in providing support within transitional living environments.
  • Strong desire to support men and women reentering the community after incarceration.
  • Experience working with people overcoming homelessness.
  • Personal maturity and special capacity to maintain confidentiality in relationships.
  • Strong sense of self and capacity to observe healthy boundaries in relationships.
  • Exposure to addictions recovery, mental health support, etc.

The following attributes will be valuable to this role:

  • Two or more years of recovery from drugs and alcohol, if applicable.
