Part-Time Weekend Resident Monitor: Women’s House – 12:00am – 8:00am (Overnight)

Position Description

In 2011, Jubilee Housing opened the Re-entry Housing Initiative (currently known as the Reentry Transitional Housing Program), which is a transitional housing program for justice-involved (returning citizens) DC residents. We currently operate two homes in the Adams Morgan and Columbia Heights neighborhood, one for 10 men and one for 10 women. This position is a part-time weekend position. The Part-Time Weekend Resident Monitor is responsible for monitoring residents in our Women’s House from 12:00am to 8:00am (overnight).

REPORTING & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

This position will work collaboratively as a member of the Reentry Transitional Housing Program team and will report to the Program/Recovery Services Coordinator.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure that the facility is safe and secure during the sleeping hours.
  • Ensure the adherence of program rules on a consistent and fair basis.
  • Respond to crises according to guidelines established.
  • Maintain professional relationships with residents while maintaining confidentiality of all parties.
  • Complete paperwork and log note requirements, and maintain quality, up-to-date records.
  • Consult with Program Director, and other program team members to ensure quality assurance for resident care.
  • Participate in all assigned meetings, staff development, and training as required.
  • Provide back-up assistance to program team members as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned in accordance with the care and coordination of the program and residents.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals who are or have been justice-involved (citizens returning to DC from incarceration).
  • Understanding and supportive of a trauma-informed system of care.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and engagement.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Some computer skills required.
  • Ability to support the organization’s mission and philosophy, and demonstrate sensitivity to cultural diversity and organizational harmony.
  • Value for and the ability to deliver good resident services.
  • Self-directed and flexible with the ability to meet the needs of the program and the residents.

Salary:

$18.00 per hour

Background, Reference Checks, and Drug Screening:

Finalist(s) for this position will be subject to a drug screening and will be required to consent to a pre-employment background and reference checks as a condition of employment.

• As a condition of employment, all external candidates must provide proof that you are fully vaccinated from COVID-19, as of your first day of employment, unless a request for an accommodation has been approved or agree to.
