Liz GossensLiz assists at the Early Start Program, which serves Kindergarten to Second Graders in the Jubilee Housing community. Liz grew up around the Jubilee community. She graduated from Wilson High School in D.C., and attended the University of Georgia for three years. Then she took some time off to research D.C. housing policy, help organize fundraisers for Jubilee Housing, and work with the National Maritime Heritage Foundation as the Director of Kids Set Sail, their sailing camp for DC youth.

She went back to school at St. Mary's College in Southern Maryland for a year and a half and graduated this past May with a degree in Theatre, focusing on Costume Design.  "Working with at-risk youth both on the water and off has had a huge impact in my life," she says. "I enjoy working with kids because, and I know how cliched this sounds, they are the future.  Every child I can have a positive impact on will grow up to lead and shape our world."
