Jubilee Ministries are ministries that grew out of the life of the Church of the Saviour, many of which where created in response to the challenges facing Jubilee Housing residents.
Affordable Housing Activists
Affordable Housing Activists is a small, but dedicated advocacy group focused on bringing attention to and improving upon the District’s affordable housing issues and needs. AHA's mission is to join with others to create a constituency of concerned neighbors and friends who will act as a powerful voice to influence public policy and resource allocation for affordable housing in the district.
Coalition for Nonprofit Housing and Economic Development
CNHED is a 501(c)3 umbrella organization for the nonprofit housing and economic development industry in Washington, DC. Our membership represents a broad spectrum of nonprofit and for-profit affordable housing developers, special needs housing service agencies, faith-based organizations, community development corporations, funders, lenders and government agencies. Community Development Support Collaborative
The Community Development Support Collaborative provides capacity building grants, technical assistance, and training over a three-year period to selected neighborhood-based community development corporations (CDCs) engaged in bringing affordable housing, commercial development and social services to their neighborhoods.
DC Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD)
The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) facilitates the production and preservation of housing, community, and economic development opportunities. DHCD fosters partnerships with for-profit and nonprofit organizations to:
Create and maintain stable neighborhoods;
Retain and expand the city’s tax base;
Promote economic opportunities through community empowerment; Retain and create job and business opportunities for the benefit of Washington, DC, residents.
DHCD's major priorities are to increase homeownership opportunities and expand economic development efforts throughout the city. Many of the department's development programs incorporate other city and private resources to have a greater impact on stabilizing neighborhoods.
In housing, DHCD offers financial assistance to low and moderate-income residents, supports efforts to maintain affordable housing opportunities, and promotes the purchase and renovation of aging and abandoned houses. The department's economic development activities generate new business opportunities that create jobs and give residents easy access to quality retail products and services.
Enterprise Community Partners, Inc.
For over two decades, Enterprise has been working in neglected communities nationwide to provide the opportunities that all Americans deserve.
Jubilee Enterprise of Greater Washington
Founded in 1990 and originally based on the model provided by Jubilee Housing, Jubilee Enterprise provides housing to low-income families in Southeast Washington and works in partnership with residents to help renew lives, strengthen families, and revitalize neighborhoods through the creation of quality, affordable housing and the provision of community programs to build capacity in underserved communities.
Jubilee Support Alliance
Founded in 1984, Jubilee Support Alliance (JSA) is comprised of a dynamic group of Washington DC area business professionals dedicated to making a difference in the lives of residents in the Adams Morgan community. Through four innovative events, JSA raises both awareness and financial resources for Jubilee Housing.
Manna Inc.
Empowers individuals, strengthen families, collaborate with stakeholders to rebuild neighborhoods, and foster sustainable communities in Washington, DC by creating quality affordable housing for lower income families, by offering support and training to families both before and after they purchase their homes, and by engaging in community and economic development activities.
The Meyer Foundation
The Meyer Foundation works to develop Greater Washington as a community by supporting capable, community-based nonprofit organizations that foster the well-being of all people in the region. They are especially concerned about low-income people and creating healthy neighborhoods. They value and seek to promote the region's diversity.
