Rebecca Ely serves as vice president for Institutional Advancement at Jubilee Housing. She assumed that role in December 2017.

Ely is responsible for Jubilee’s fundraising and communication efforts. She works to ensure wide-ranging support for the organization from individuals, foundations, and corporate donors—engaging them in Jubilee’s work in innovative ways. She collaborates with Jubilee’s staff, management and board to spread the story of Jubilee’s impact in the lives of the residents as well as on citizens across the District. She strategizes about the steps Jubilee will take in the future to continue advancing its mission.

Highlights of Ely’s work at Jubilee include launching a series of tours through the renovation underway at Jubilee’s Maycroft property to recognize the role supporters have played in moving the Maycroft forward and let them see its progress; updating the materials Jubilee uses to communicate about its efforts; establishing a development committee to increase awareness and support for Jubilee; and leading efforts to launch and raise funds for the Justice Housing Partners Fund.

Prior to joining Jubilee, Ely managed Employee Wellness Programs for HealthSource, part of the Inova Health System. She has served as director of development at Community Family Life Services, development manager at Arlington Thrive, executive director at Patrick Allison House, and director of Parent Giving at College of the Holy Cross.

Ely serves on the board of Arlington Thrive and is the fundraising co-chair of the PTA at her children’s elementary school.

She has a BA from the University of Mary Washington and an MBA from Brandeis University’s Heller School for Social Policy and Management.
