A Home of Their Own

Six Jubilee families–some with the assistance of Jubilee Housing, some on their own initiative–have purchased homes over the past 3 months. The Jubilee community celebrates their achievements and wishes them well as they settle into their new neighborhoods.
Rallying for Funding

On Wednesday, May 7th at 9:00am seven residents along with three Jubilee Housing staff members met in front of the Wilson Building to attend a rally to advocate for more affordable housing funding in the Mayor’s 2009 budget. There were two specific programs that would support residents at Jubilee Housing: The Housing Production Trust Fund (HPTF) and Local Rent Supplement Program (LRSP).

Jubilee Housing, the District of Columbia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), Jubilee JumpStart and PNC Bank, a member of the PNC Financial Services Group, today announced the groundbreaking for Ontario Court Apartments, a $9 million project in Washington, D.C.’s Adams Morgan community, which includes the rehabilitation of 27 affordable apartment units and plans for a 24-hour child care center in the District.

James G. Davis Construction Corporation (DAVIS) recently hosted a fundraising breakfast for Jubilee Housing that raised more than $50,000 for the Campaign for the New Jubilee’s Finishing Touches and was attended by over 40 local companies.
District of Columbia’s Housing Authority (DCHA) holds Press Conference at Jubilee Housing, Inc.

Jubilee Housing was recently notified that the District of Columbia's Housing Authority (DCHA) will be holding a press conference to announce and celebrate winners of $4.8 million in grant funding for affordable housing. This event took place on Monday, April 23 and Jubilee Housing was honored to have this event take place at one of its properties. Noted dignitaries, the media and supporters alike all gathered at the Ritz Building located at 1631 Euclid Street, NW at 11am.
